Training Program in Pharmacological Sciences

The Training Program provides training of predoctoral graduate students in the area of Pharmacological Sciences. It has been continuously funded by a T32 grant from the NIH (GM007518) since 1977. The program currently funds 8 graduate students, typically in the first or second year of their PhD studies.

The program funds students for up to two years, including stipend, tuition and fees. It provides a specific curriculum in Physiology and Pharmacology. In addition, students benefit from additional training in Computational and Quantitative Methods in Biology, Biostatistics, Reproducibility and Rigor and Communicating Science. The program also sponsors trainee invited speakers, career development lunches and an annual student symposium. It also provides funding for students to attend scientific meetings and workshops to enhance career development.

The Training Program in Pharmacological Sciences considers all candidates equally, regardless of state of residence, and particularly encourages applications from women, individuals with disabilities, and members of racial and/or ethnic groups currently under-represented in biomedical science.
