Historical Note
The Long Island Archives Conference (LIAC) was established in 1974 to serve the needs of Long Island's archival community. The LIAC held its organizational meeting and first workshops on April 20, 1974 on the C. W. Post campus of Long Island University. An offshoot from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference, meetings were held twice yearly, typically in April and October.
