Step 1: Select a Program
Select a program that meets your interests
Step 2: Apply for a Program
commit to the program
Once accepted to your GSI program, you will receive an email asking you to ‘COMMIT’ to the program in your application portal.set up your student accounts
You will receive a Stony Brook ID number and be asked to create a login to your student accounts.request an i-20
Global Academic and Intensive English Programs only. You will receive an email from Visa & Immigration Services to request an I-20 for your student visa.make a deposit
Intensive English Program only. You will be asked to make a non-refundable deposit of $200 to confirm your participation. You will receive an email with payment instructions.
Step 4: Make Flight Arrangements
Review housing check-in and check-out dates and airport transportation information
prior to making flight arrangements.
Step 5: Make a Payment
All tuition and fees must be paid in full two weeks before the program begins.
Step 6: Pack for Your Trip
Review our packing tips to make sure you bring everything you need during your program.
Step 8: Attend Orientation
Check-in with GSI and get important information about your program, the campus, and GSI activities during Orientation.
Step 9: Enjoy the Program!
Take advantage of GSI cultural activities and meet up with your Global Student Ambassador.
