Yulong Hu is a Ph.D. student in the Art History & Criticism program at Stony Brook University. Her research interests include contemporary video art, new media art, experimental film, and transnational popular culture. Primarily, she studies Chinese video art in the global context while exploring emergent forms of artistic production and their impact on the everchanging audiovisual landscape. Yulong received a MA at Columbia University in Film and Media Studies and a BA (summa cum laude) at Stony Brook University in Art History & Criticism. During her undergraduate years, she worked as a gallery assistant at the Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery and co-curated the “Artists as Innovators” exhibition in 2019.
