Genevieve Lipinsky de Orlov is an art historian, critic, and editor based in New York and Berlin. A PhD student and Graduate Council Fellow in art history and criticism at Stony Brook, Genevieve researches modern and contemporary artistic practices that self-reflexively take up art’s conditions of production, its relationship to its institutions, and its implication in global racial capitalism. Prior to receiving an MA from the Institut für Kunst im Kontext at the Universität der Künste Berlin, where Genevieve’s work was supported by the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), Genevieve worked on exhibitions at the Phillips Collection and at the Museum of Modern Art. From 2020 to 2022 Genevieve was the editor of Texte zur Kunst.
