Our Departments

The Campus Life Centers team manages the major hubs of campus life: Student Activities Center, Stony Brook Union, Bauman Center, deVries Center and the Commuter Pit Stop. Campus Life Centers aims to provide a welcoming environment and sense of belonging for the Stony Brook University community and visitors. 

Diversity, Intercultural, and Community Engagement has begun an exciting year of programs, services, learning experiences, and opportunities that celebrate diversity and promote greater inclusion for all members of the Stony Brook University campus!

The fraternity and sorority community seeks to create and foster a vibrant campus community by developing a comprehensive co-curricular experience that exemplifies the ideals of academic excellence, philanthropy, member development, brotherhood/sisterhood, risk management, and campus relations.

We are dedicated to facilitating a smooth and successful transition process to Stony Brook University for all new students. Through inclusive community-building activities, educational programs, collaboration, and peer leadership, we seek to create a foundational sense of belonging and serve as a resource for our community.

The Stony Brook University Band Program includes both Athletic and Concert Bands and supports more than 200 academically-driven students with a passion for music, spirit, and community.

Student Community Development is committed to supporting diverse and inclusive student communities while meeting the unique needs of the individual student. 

The Department of Student Engagement & Activities is committed to elevating the student experience by fostering developmental, dynamic, and inclusive co-curricular experiences through engaging events, memorable traditions, and a community of recognized student organizations. 

The Student Life Health Sciences Team plays a vital role in the creation and maintenance of a vibrant campus life and the promotion of student engagement of Stony Brook’s East Campus students.
