The Conversations in the Disciplines (CID) program brings together faculty from across SUNY to examine trends, address changes and challenges, and review promising research findings and pedagogical practices in a wide range of disciplines and fields.
The program aims to support the cross-fertilization of ideas and invite collaborations across the system and beyond.
Craft your proposal
This year, proposals for conversations that focus on discipline-specific explorations and integrations of artificial intelligence are particularly welcome.
Any full-time faculty member or academic unit may apply. All proposals must be made by representatives from at least two SUNY campuses.
The full proposal is due Friday, January 29, 2027.
Proposals require an endorsement from the university. These endorsements should be completed by the faculty member's dean's office.
Two funding tracks are available
- Track 1: Proposals up to $5,000
- Track 2: Proposals up to $10,000
Project directors should select the track that best suits their proposed conversation based on its scope and maturity. Proposals must indicate and justify the selected track.
All conversation grant proposals must be tied to one or more of the SUNY pillars: student success; research and scholarship; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and economic development and upward mobility.
