Zoom Guidelines
All Workshop leaders leading a Zoom or hybrid workshop must meet the following guidelines:
- Workshop leaders must set up the workshop with a licensed Stony Brook University Zoom account using their SBU NetID & Password and must lead their workshop using that account.
- Each workshop will be scheduled prior to the start of the semester by an OLLI staff member in conjunction with the workshop leader.
- The Program Director must be made and remain an alternate host in the event that the workshop leader has trouble accessing the workshop. This will result in reduced delayed starts and missed workshops due to technical issues.
- Workshop leaders need access to a device that has a microphone, a web camera, and Internet access. A desktop computer or other device with a hard-wired connection to the Internet is preferred but not required.
- All new Zoom or hybrid workshop leaders must be trained on the technology prior to the start of the semester.
- All Workshop leaders should inform the Program Director via email if they are recording their workshop, and you must inform the participants at the beginning of every workshop you record with the following info: "Please note that this OLLI workshop is being recorded. If you do not wish to have your image or commentary included you have the option to stop your camera or leave the meeting”.
Any workshop leader can request individual Zoom trainings with a student assistant from the OLLI office as needed.
For more information and tips about using Zoom, please contact the OLLI office for assistance or visit the Zoom support website.
If you as a workshop leader are unable to start your workshop or experience any Zoom safety issues that require immediate assistance, please email: OLLI@stonybrook.edu
