Workshop Leader Supplies
All workshop leaders are entitled to a $150 stipend for approved materials each semester that they are approved to lead a workshop for OLLI at SBU.
All purchased supplies and materials not directly consumed/used by the workshop leader or workshop participants are to be returned and remain property of OLLI at SBU.
All items must be purchased through the OLLI main office. There is no mechanism for reimbursement for purchases made on your own.
Items acceptable for material requests include:
- Art supplies – digital or tangible
- 1 copy of a book or sheet music for workshop leader use, to be used in compliance
with U.S. copyright fair use laws which stipulates that such material must be used
for a limited and transformative purpose.
- If members should have to obtain their own copies, please provide the title and places where they can purchase materials.
- Copies of copyrighted works should include proper attribution and copyright notices.
- Films/DVDs for instructional use are only to be purchased in hardcopy form should they not be available on streaming services with approval from the Program Director. See below section for available streaming services.
- Other items as requested and approved by the Program Director
- All supply requests are generally noted via the WSL Application, for additional requests beyond this timeframe, please email the OLLI office: olli@stonybrook.edu.
Streaming Services
Streaming services are available to all workshop leaders and permit video content to be streamed during in person workshops or Zoom workshops via screen share. Please email the OLLI office at olli@stonybrook.edu for access.Workshop leader access to digital subscriptions will terminate when the workshop is complete at the end of the semester.

Copies
- Please be mindful of the number of copies being made.
- Where possible please utilize the contact information on your roster and send materials via email instead of printing.
- All copies should be made double-sided and in black and white.
- If you must copy in color, you must receive permission from the OLLI office, so an OLLI staff member can enter the color copy code.
