Space Management & Real Estate, within Campus Planning, Design & Construction, oversees the strategic use and allocation of university space.

At Stony Brook University, space is a shared and limited resource. Assignments are managed to support academic priorities, research activity, and operational needs—ensuring facilities are used effectively and aligned with institutional goals.

Space allocations are regularly reviewed and may be adjusted as needs evolve.

Space Guidelines

Space allocation follows State University Construction Fund (SUCF) guidelines, where applicable.
