The Program
Whether you're seeking to be a full-time or a part-time student, Stony Brook's MFA
in Film and Television Writing has options for you.
Located in the heart of Manhattan with tracks in Directing, Screenwriting and Television Writing, evening courses and teaching opportunities, this program is designed with the flexibility and goals of a New York writer and filmmaker in mind.
At the MFA in Film and Television Writing’s Manhattan Center, we welcome filmmakers, directors, television writers, screenwriters and producers seeking to take their work to a professional level. Enrollment in our workshops is capped at twelve.

Cost
Entire MFA degree cost? Just under $30,000 for New Yorkers. Less than half the price of other MFAs.
Funding
Some graduate and teaching assistantships are available.
Teaching Opportunities
Graduate students get great classroom experience teaching undergraduate Filmmaking, Television Writing and Screenwriting courses.
