Kenneth H. Verzyl (1922-1978) was a former village mayor of Asharoken, New York, and an artist. He was born in Long Island City and was a graduate of SUNY Farmingdale, where he earned a degree in animal husbandry. He was a licensed plumber and constructed apartment buildings with his father. In 1963-1964, he and his wife June managed the Veryzl Gallery located on Route 25A in Northport, New York. In 1969, he was elected as a village trustee in Asharoken and in 1970, he was elected mayor of the village by a margin of one vote.
