Ruobing LiRuobing teaches mass communication-related courses. Ruobing's primary area of research considers the impact of message features and technological affordances in persuasive communication and the process of resistence to persuasion. 

She also studies native advertising on social media. Her research has been published in major communication and related journals, and she is active in funded research projects, including serving as co-PI on several federal projects.

Recently, she joined a panel of other SBU researchers to discuss vaccine hesticancy during the height of the Covld-19 pandemic.  The university also awarded her a grant to explore the intersection between vaccine hesitancy and media exposure.
