Soraya Zabihi has more than 20 years of research experience in the public and private
sectors, including market research and public opinion research. She has designed and
executed survey research projects and conducted data analysis and reported findings
for federal, state, and local government agencies, and non-profit agencies such as
the University at Buffalo, SUNY at Albany, Center for Technology in Government, NYS
Office of Children and Family Services, ERASE Racism, the Long Island Center for Health
Policy, the Rauch Foundation, and the NYS Department of Health. Throughout her career,
Soraya has mentored students in survey research and data analysis.
She serves as the director of research and assessment at Stony Brook's College of Arts and Sciences. In that role, she provides direct support to faculty and graduate students seeking grants, fellowships, and research opportunities. Soraya acts as the CAS liaison with the Office of the Vice President for Research to identify and develop funding opportunities for all CAS departments, centers, and institutes, and assists in all administrative aspects of proposal development. She also supports College-planning initiatives through the compilation and maintenance of departmental data.
An alumna of Stony Brook, Soraya holds a Master of Science in Management and Policy.
