Service Indicator (Holds) Glossary

  • Students may have holds placed on their record that can interfere with their ability to enroll or graduate. Most of these occur when they first enroll at the University, some are recurring, and some are situational. Some holds will block your enrollment and some even will result in de-registration.
  • All of these holds are explained in SOLAR and some can be resolved online. The Graduate School cannot investigate or resolve any holds placed by other areas, so please be mindful of the contact information.
  • Below is a list of the most common holds that graduate students will encounter, what they mean, and who you should contact for more information.
  • Review your holds and further instructions on how to resolve them by logging into SOLAR and clicking View Details in the Action Center.
