Meet the Mentors

  • Manasvi Bhatnagar
    Manasvi
    Manasvi is a junior at Stony Brook, majoring in Computer Science, with a minor in Creative Writing. She got involved as the former Freshman Rep, Secretary, and now President of AI Community, and as a member of SBCS, WiCS, and Robotics. She was a UGC Fellow, International Student Ambassador, CRIZM VIP Team member, and is a Skill-Based Tutor. She loves reading, especially muder mysteries, and her “To Read” list is over 75 books long.

    Krishiv is a sophomore at Stony Brook, majoring in Biomedical Engineering and is on the pre-med track. He got involved in BME/cancer research with Professors Chan and Rubin, as a participant in  the St. Charles Patient Experience Internship, and as a Physical Therapy Volunteer at Mercy Hospital. He played tennis for 12 years. 
  • Erin Cahill

    Erin is a senior at Stony Brook, double majoring in Civil Engineering and Applied Mathematics and Statistics. She got involved as the Senior Structural Captain for the ASCE Steel Bridge Team, is on the Stony Brook Women’s Club Soccer Team, and is a former mentee. She interned at WSP in their Bridge Structures Department. She does an 85 mile bike ride each year for The Ride for Missing and Exploited Children.
  • Samuel Camulaire
    Samuel
    Samuel is a junior at Stony Brook, majoring in Civil Engineering. He got involved as the former Treasurer/Videographer and now President of BASIC, the Alumni Chair for NSBE, and as a member of CSTEP. He was a Field Intern at FC Consulting Engineers and is a Sound Engineer at Watcher Records LLC. He writes, produces, mixes, and masters his own music, and releases music on all streaming platforms under the stage name SamTheSon.

    Anusree
    Anusree is a junior at Stony Brook, majoring in Biomedical Engineering on the pre-med track, with a specialization in Molecular & Cellular Biomedical Engineering. She got involved as the President of the Stony Brook American Cancer Society, Outreach Chair for BMES, a member of the VIP BEAR Team, Phi Delta Epsilon Medical Fraternity, and of the Honors College. She researched with Professor Zhu in the Explorations in STEM program and works part-time at In Motion Physical Therapy. She participates in Diaspora, a Bengali singing group off campus, and she has a food TikTok page and I like exploring new cafes and restaurants.

    Josue is a senior at Stony Brook, majoring in Biomedical Engineering with a specialization in Biomechanics and Biomaterials. He got involved as the Vice  President of BMES, as a member of 2 VIP Teams (Tissue Engineered Kidneys and BEAR Carnival Game), and did research for SUNY SOAR. He loves following the Premier League and Formula 1.
  • Sophia Feng

    Sophia is a senior at Stony Brook, majoring in Biomedical Engineering, with a specialization in Molecular & Cellular Biomedical Engineering. She got involved as the former Secretary and now President of BMES, as a Head Team Lead for VIP BEAR, and member of CASB Dance Team. She is a former mentee and did research for SUNY SOAR and URECA with Professors Chan and Rubin. She can crochet, knit, and sew.

    Raymond is a senior at Stony Brook, majoring in Chemical & Molecular Engineering, with a specialization in Materials Science and a minor in Finance. He got involved as as a member of AIChE, the Chess Club, and as a Co-Captain of AIChE’s Chem E Car Team. He has a double-jointed thumb.

    Gordon is a graduate student at Stony Brook. After earning a Bachelor of Science from SBU in Information Systems, he will be pursuing an MBA in Finance. He got involved as a member of SBCS and the Photography Club. He interned in the CEAS Undergraduate Student Office and at Verizon. He loves to do photography.

    Moiz is a sophomore at Stony Brook, majoring in Biomedical Engineering. He got involved as a member of 2 different VIP BEAR Teams focused on an adaptive baseball bat for children with disabilities and an app for neurodivergent drivers. He also does research in the Martin lab on zebrafish spinal cord regeneration and has interned at Tools For Surgery in St. Charles Hospital. He loves playing soccer.

    Chloe is a junior at Stony Brook, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. She got involved as the Secretary of the Solar Racing Team, as a member of their VIP Team, and of ASME. She used to do swimming and taekwondo.

    Leo is a junior at Stony Brook, majoring in Chemical and Molecular Engineering. He got involved as a former mentee and researches fabricating magnetic hydrogels with Professor Yao (CME). He interned at Kohler, enjoys playing chess, and his Chinese name (Jiāng Yún Tiān) in English is the combination of "river", "cloud", and "sky".

    Sean is a senior at Stony Brook, majoring in Electrical Engineering. He got involved as the former Treasurer, Vice President, and President of IEEE. He was an Operations Intern at TC Electric and an FPGA/Electrical Engineering Intern at Collins Aerospace. He loves listening to and collecting vinyl, and the oldest vinyl I have is a 1967 pressing of Frank Sinatra’s “The World We Knew”.

    Melda is a sophomore at Stony Brook, majoring in Biomedical Engineering. She got involved as a member of BMES, VIP BEAR, and is a former mentee. She was an Engineering Mentor Fellow for middle and high school students in Rhode Island and had a fellowship with TOM. She really enjoys walking, and her longest walk spanned 15 miles!

    Carson is a sophomore at Stony Brook, majoring in Data Science. She got involved as a member of the Varsity Swimming Team, WiCS, is a PACK mentor for athletics, and is a member of the WISE Honors Program. She was a Team Advisor for the National Leadership Conference’s Artificial Intelligence program at UC Berkeley. She loves to travel.

    Nolan is a junior at Stony Brook, double majoring in Applied Mathematics and Statistics and Economics. He got involved as the Secretary of the Actuarial Society, the Vice President of the Running Club, the Fundraising Manager for LLS@SBU, and is a member of Delta Sigma Pi and Pokemon Go Club. He is a former mentee and finished as a semifinalist in an actuarial research case study competition. He wears 2 watches and can solve a Rubik’s Cube in under 30 seconds.

    Leah is a junior at Stony Brook, majoring in Chemical and Molecular Engineering with a specialization in Sustainable Materials and a minor in Chemistry. She got involved as a Dynamic Dance Fundraising Coordinator and Tap Teacher, member of AIChE, French Cub, and Art Club. She was a Compounding Intern at Estée Lauder, researched chemical upcycling of fabric for catalysis with Professor Kim (CME), and researched emissions from wood combustion as a SULI Intern at Brookhaven National Lab. She plays viola, ukulele, guitar, and is working on teaching herself piano.

    Judy is a junior at Stony Brook, majoring in Chemical & Molecular Engineering, with a specialization in environmental science/engineering. She got involved as a member of AIChE’s Chem E Sports VIP Team. She previously interned at Central Park Conservancy, Alley Pond Park and worked for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS). She can cook instant 3 min noodles in 2.5 minutes.

    Ricky is a sophomore at Stony Brook, majoring in Computer Science. He got involved as a former mentee. He edits basketball videos and posts them on his personal channel on Tiktok. He loves playing basketball, pool, and singing.

    Xiang is a senior at Stony Brook, majoring in Computer Science. He got involved as a RA in Benedict North, TA for CSE 214 and 353, and is a former mentee. He is completing his honors thesis in Computer Vision Research, and was a Software Engineering Intern at Capital One. He likes to read books, especially biographies and memoirs.

    Dimash is a sophomore at Stony Brook, double majoring in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics and Statistics. He got involved as the Freshman Rep and PR of the Game Development and Design Club, as a member of Ai Community, SBCS, WiCS, and as a former mentee. He is a Student Assistant for CELT and a Found Member for the CRIZM VIP Team. He was a foreign exchange student in California during his sophomore year of high school.

    June is a junior at Stony Brook, majoring in Civil Engineering, with a minor in Environmental Design, Policy, and Planning. She got involved as a TA for SBU 101, math tutor, student athlete PACK mentor, and member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. She is a catcher/infielder for the Stony Brook Division I Softball Team.

    Tom is a junior at Stony Brook, double-majoring in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics and Statistics, with an Accounting minor. He got involved as a former mentee, a Google Code2Career Mentee, Uber Career Prep Fellow. He interned at Tierra JSC and as a Summer Analyst Intern at Nomura Inc. He likes to play guitar and rescue cats!

    Melania is a junior at Stony Brook, majoring in Chemical and Molecular Engineering with a specialization in Nanotechnology and a minor in Italian. She got involved as the Treasurer for AIChE, Co-Captain of the Chem E Car Stopping Reaction Team, plays flute in Wolfie’s Big Band, and is a member of the Club Swim Team. She is a former mentee and interned at the Westchester County Environmental Labs over the summer. She loves to read (especially fantasy novels) and her dream is to one day have a personal library built into her home.

    Lucas is a junior at Stony Brook, double majoring in Electrical Engineering and Physics. He got involved as a STEM Tutor for the Simons STEM Scholars Program and as an Internal Peer Mentor. He has done research with Professor Deshpande (PHY) applying machine learning to particle identification, participated in the CERN IdeaSquare Planet Internship, and will be a Computational Physics Research Fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He used to be in a Mariachi band.

    Jahz is a junior at Stony Brook, majoring in Technological Systems Management, with a specialization in Information Systems. He got involved as the VP of Community Service for Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity, a Student Technician for DoIT, and a Summer Program Ambassador. He was born in Belize and raised in the Bronx, NY. 
  • Mathew Roshan

    Mathew is a junior at Stony Brook, majoring in Chemical and Molecular Engineering with a specialization in Fluid Dynamics, Polymer Science, and Material Science. He got involved as a URECA Research Fellow at Advanced Combustion & Energy Systems (ACES) Lab, the Fueling and Oiling Lead of the Formula Society of Automotive Engineers Team, and the Captain AIChE Jeopardy Team. He also did research in the CME department and was an intern at Koehler Instrument Company. He used to swim competitively.

    Santhosh is a senior at Stony Brook, majoring in Computer Science, with a minor in Writing and Rhetoric. He got involved as the former PR Officer for SBCS, as a member of the Game Development and Design Club, and is a former mentee. He is a member of the Politech VIP Team and is the Digital Marketing Coordinator @Thump Local. He plays drums, is learning piano/guitar, and used to coach on of the SBU Valorant Teams.

    Julianna is a senior at Stony Brook, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. She got involved as the PR Lead and former President of SAE Motorsports and is a former mentee. She is a Research Assistant at AERTC, an Automation Engineering Intern at Natech Plastics, and works part-time at Starbucks. She has a seal of biliteracy in Italian.

    Susan is a junior at Stony Brook, majoring in Information Systems, with a specialization in Business and Economics. She got involved as a Student Engagement Specialist at SBU. SHe interned at MindArch Health and Open Space Institute. One of her favorite movies is Whiplash, and she saw Whiplash in concert in NYC, where a jazz band performed the entire soundtrack from the movie.

She got involved doing research on Algorithmic Problem Solving with Professor Ganapathi, as a member of the Politech VIP Team, and is a former mentee. She interned at the Administrative Office of the US CourtsShe likes drying oregano from her backyard.
