Your gift to the School of Social Welfare Fund for Excellence is invested in the areas of the School where support is needed most, including scholarships, research by our faculty and students, and in creating the margin of excellence at the  School of Social Welfare.

In an effort to support our MSW graduates to  prepare for and pass the licensing exam immediately after graduation, Stony Brook has created the “L Fund (Licensing Fund) prep program.”  

This fund aims to ease the burden that comes along with preparing for the licensing exam after our students have completed their MSW coursework. 

Your gift to the L Fund ensures that our graduates will be well prepared to pass the examination on their first attempt (immediately after graduation) and will  join our many alumni and friends as successful alumni and professional colleagues.

Gifts may be made through an outright contribution of cash, securities, real estate or other real or personal property, as well as through planned, annual giving, estate gifts such as bequests and trusts, and life income gifts, such as charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts. We also welcome your pledge. Pledges of more than $5,000 may be fulfilled over a multi-year period (up to five years).
