Opportunities to Make a Difference
@ Stony Brook University’s Program in Public Health
Your gift, no matter the amount, matters. Your ongoing philanthropic support allows the Program in Public Health to train the next generation of public health leaders to integrate the knowledge, skills, and values of public health and health management into their careers.
Please consider making a gift to the Anne Tempone Student Scholarship Award. This
award was established to honor one of our most inspiring students, who sadly passed
away while pursuing her Master of Public Health degree.
Ann Tempone committed to the MPH program at a point in her life when she had raised her children, was nearing retirement and had achieved a successful career in laboratory technology. A valued colleague, Ann had a passion for continuous learning and professional growth, and a drive to make contributions to society in new ways. We remember her as a generous and caring person, but most of all as a standout among the student body for her love of learning.
To honor Ann’s memory and the inspirational impact she had on our community, we award a scholarship in her name each year to a current student or students who manifest a similar love of learning and represent our program with impeccable professionalism.
Please give to the Anne Tempone Scholarship here. (Search under the scholarship name for the proper fund)

A gift of appreciated securities may be an advantageous way for you to give to Stony Brook University’s Program in Public Health while avoiding or reducing capital gains taxes.
If you choose to use depreciated securities to make your gift, in most cases, it will be more advantageous to sell the shares and give the proceeds to the Program in Public Health.
Please consult with your legal and financial advisor.
Planned gifts offer an opportunity to help you retain or receive income in addition

Please consult your legal and financial advisors to determine the tax advantages of making a planned gift.
Endowments are perpetual and offer you the opportunity to support multiple generations of patients, practitioners, and physician-researchers, thereby making a lasting impact.
