Strengthening Foundation Partnerships
Stony Brook University Foundation Relations partners with faculty, clinicians, staff and leadership to secure philanthropic support from private foundations that advance the university’s mission in research, education and public service.
Foundation Relations works closely with the Stony Brook Foundation and the Office of Research and Innovation to ensure proposals and awards are managed effectively and in compliance with university policies. We support the full lifecycle of foundation engagement through the following services:
- Identifying relevant foundation funding opportunities
- Developing outreach strategies and cultivating relationships with foundations
- Assisting with letters of intent and full proposal development
- Coordinating meetings with foundation program officers
- Inviting funders to campus and organizing site visits
- Facilitating connections with foundation representatives at conferences and events
- Providing stewardship and impact updates after grants are awarded
