The Master's Program in Sociology
The Department of Sociology offers a terminal master's degree that must be completed in three years.
Admission
Applications must be submitted online through the Graduate School Website by December 1 of each year. Admissions are for the Fall semester only. There are no Spring Admissions. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and an undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 or above.
The following are required to apply:
- Completion of the online application
- Application Fee for Graduate Admissions
- Personal statement
- Three letters of recommendation
- Transcripts of previous postsecondary academic work
- Applicants may submit a writing sample, CV and/or GRE scores (but are not required to)

This paper will constitute an original piece of social science research evaluated formally by two faculty members.

- IELTS: Speak 7+ and Overall 6.5+ with no subsection below 6 for all applicants
