Biography

Lisa Diedrich is professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Her research and teaching interests are in critical illness and disability studies, feminist science studies, graphic medicine, critical pedagogies, and interdisciplinary methods. She is the author of Illness Politics and Hashtag Activism;Indirect Action: Schizophrenia, Epilepsy, AIDS, and the Course of Health Activism; and Treatments: Language, Politics,and the Culture of Illness. She is co-editor (with Briana Martino) of the collection Keywords/Keyimages in Graphic Medicine (forthcoming in early 2026) and co-editor (with Victoria Hesford) of Feminist Time Against Nation Time.
