All new EOP/AIM students who accept their EOP/AIM admissions offer no later than May 1, will be provided their Net ID within 3 days. Once a NetID is received, students must submit the on-campus housing intent form through the housing portal if they wish to apply for campus housing. Once completed, the student will gain access to the main housing application in the Housing Portal by the posted deadlines on the Fall Admit Housing Application Information webpage. Failure to complete your application will result in cancellation.
Housing Demand
As a campus, we prioritize all newly admitted students who meet deposit and application deadlines for their first year of housing. If housing demand greatly exceeds available spaces, Campus Residences will implement temporary tripling to offer as many students as possible the experience of our residential learning environment. Learn more about housing demand on our Campus Residences page.
EOP/AIM Pre-Freshman Summer Academy
This five-week, required, summer program of intense academics is an integral part of the EOP/AIM program at Stony Brook. All EOP/AIM students are expected to earn a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 during the summer program. The program provides a richly rewarding academic experience for participants. The courses of study are Mathematics, Africana Studies, Philosophy and Writing.
Some students enter the summer program with apprehension, perhaps because they would prefer to stay home and work. However, most students look back over the five weeks and realize the enormous academic and social benefits they received from the summer program experience. These benefits carry over into the academic year. Our research shows that summer program participants tend to perform better than non-participants.
The 2027 EOP/AIM Summer Academy is proposed to run from:
June 27 - July 23, 2027
Attendance in ALL classes/events are MANDATORY and successful completion of the EOP/AIM Summer Academy is required to gain full admission into Stony Brook University for the Fall 2027 semester.
- Mandatory Move into Residence Hall: Sunday, June 27, 2027 between 8am-11am (complete form to select exact move-in time frame)
- On campus Summer Academy (no going home or visitation): June 27-July 23, 2027
- Move Out of Residence Hall: July 23, 2027
You will receive more details about your in-person EOP/AIM Orientation on May 27, and the EOP/AIM Summer Academy after May 1.
