Supporting creative expression in a world constructed of words and images.
A Message To Our Community:
International students are a vital part of the larger Stony Brook community and the
Lichtenstein
Center, and we deeply value their contributions to our programs. Recently, eleven
international
students at SUNY Stony Brook had their visas revoked, with no notice, recourse, or
reasons given.
These students, like all of our students, are here to study and learn, to access a
world-class
education that SUNY Stony Brook provides; how can they do so in an unstable environment
and
how can educators feel free and safe to teach? Read The Lichtenstein Center's full
statement here.
The Lichtenstein Center houses Stony Brook University’s academic programs, graduate and undergraduate, in creative writing, film, and writing for television, along with community programming and advanced training.
The Lichtenstein Center promotes the creation of original work in a range of disciplines, while offering opportunities for collaboration and experimentation outside of traditional program borders. . .

Congratulations to Stony Brook University Podcast Incubator alumni Blake Pfeil, who was awarded an Ambie for the podcast he worked on while with the Incubator, abandoned: The All-American Ruins Podcast! Blake is also launching a new podcast in collaboration with Period Power, coming soon!
The Stony Brook University Podcast Incubator and Emerald Audio proudly announce the launch of K-All, a student-produced podcast that exemplifies the Incubator’s mission: taking ambitious classroom projects and transforming them into professional, market-ready productions. “Our goal is to bridge the gap between theory and real-world experience,” said Kathleen Russo, Director of the Stony Brook University Podcast Incubator. “By partnering with industry mentors, our students see firsthand how to pitch, produce, and promote a show—acquiring skills and contracts that go far beyond the classroom." Intro toPodcasting (FLM 203) teaches scripting, recording, editing, and distribution workflows using industry-standard tools and techniques to an undergraduate cohort every semester. Undergraduates Angel Martinez and Lauren Chen, guided by course instructor Jennifer Shin Bassett, pitched K-All and secured a partnership with Emerald Audio.
