Mission

The mission of the Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness is to collect, validate, analyze, and communicate information to provide meaningful insights in support of the Stony Brook University mission.

Vision

To establish a world-class institutional research operation and institutional effectiveness system in support of the University’s mission.

Goals

1. Ensure the availability of well-governed data that are accurate, consistent and usable.

2. Provide accurate and timely analysis to support institutional priorities.

3. Communicate effectively with the Stony Brook community.

4. Develop a culture of evidence-based decision making.
