Health Insurance
How to Get Started
All GSI participants are enrolled in United Healthcare’s International Student Health Insurance Plan. It is essential that you download the insurance ID Card. Follow your email instructions to set up an account and download the app.
You will receive your insurance card at Orientation. Be sure to take a picture of the front and back of it on your phone!
Not Feeling Well?
Follow this simple flowchart if you need medical care:

Student Health Center
If you are on campus and the Student Health Center is open, please visit the Student Health Center first to waive the $50 deductible. Call the Student Health Center at (631) 632-6740 to make an appointment.
Off Campus and After Hours Care
For non-urgent health care off campus, after hours, or on weekends, you can use TimelyCare for telehealth services. TimelyCare provides access to doctors and mental health professionals any time or day.
For in-person care when you are away from campus or the Student Health Center is closed, you must pay the $50 deductible to your medical provider. Seek treatment then report to the Student Health Center as soon as possible to get the $50 deductible reimbursed.
Network
You can find a doctor who accepts your insurance by visiting the United Healthcare website.
