
Amy Ellis serves as Director of Government Relations for Stony Brook University, where she supports the Associate Vice President of Government Relations in advancing the University's state and local priorities throughout the State.
Prior to joining Stony Brook University, Amy spent more than a decade in local government on Long Island. She held several leadership roles within the Suffolk County Legislature, including serving as Chief of Staff to a Suffolk County Legislator, Chief Deputy Clerk of the Suffolk County Legislature and most notably, Clerk of the Suffolk County Legislature.
Most recently, Amy spent the past four years progressing renewable energy development and construction on Long Island, working on both the South Fork Wind and Sunrise Wind projects. Amy's most recent work with Ørsted included overseeing $20 million in project-funded community grants, advancing local project permits, and strengthening partnerships with key local elected officials and community groups.
Amy is a two-time graduate of Stony Brook University, receiving both her B.A. in Political Science and M.A. in Higher Education Administration.
