Most recently, the Nina and Vinod Rathore Electrical and Computer Engineering Graduate Scholarship provided financial support to graduate students in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Established through the generosity of department alumni Nina and Vinod Rathore, the scholarship recognized full-time MS students who demonstrated strong academic achievement.

Most recently, Priya More was selected as the Spring 2026 recipient of the Nina and Vinod Rathore Scholarship in recognition of her exceptional academic performance and continued research contributions to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Her accomplishments reflect the scholarship's mission to support graduate students who demonstrate excellence, innovation, and a strong commitment to their field.
Student Awards
At the end of each academic year, the department recognizes outstanding undergraduate and graduate students through awards established in memory of engineers whose contributions to the field of electrical and computer engineering have been profound, both within our community and beyond.
- The Driscoll Award is a prestigious honor, made possible through the generosity of the late Timothy Driscoll, presented to recognize outstanding undergraduate achievement in electrical engineering. The award honors students who demonstrate exceptional academic excellence in the study of electrical power systems and related engineering disciplines
- The Armonstrong Memorial Research Foundation Award honors FM radio inventor Edwin Howard Armstrong, providing annual recognition to outstanding undergraduate and graduate electrical engineering students at Stony Brook University. The award recognizes exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and dedication to the field.
- The Artem Ayzen Senior Design Capstone Award honors an undergraduate senior design group whose capstone project demonstrates exceptional innovation, creativity, practicality, impact, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Established by Artem Ayzen's family, this award honors his memory as a talented and deeply respected PhD student remembered for his remarkable intellect, dedication to research, leadership in student organizations, and commitment to teamwork before his passing in 2014.
