Tech, AI and Society PhD Information Session

We invite you to join us for an upcoming information session for prospective students interested in pursuing a PhD in our department.
This session will provide an opportunity to learn more about our PhD program, our faculty research, and the interdisciplinary research environment within the department. Faculty members will highlight current and emerging research areas and discuss the types of research questions and projects that PhD students may pursue.
We will also discuss what we look for in prospective PhD candidates, including academic preparation, research experience, research interests, and the importance of finding a strong match between a student’s goals and our faculty’s areas of expertise.
The session will include:
- An overview of the PhD program and its interdisciplinary research focus
- Presentations on faculty research areas and current research opportunities
- Discussion of the qualities and qualifications of successful PhD applicants
- Guidance on identifying potential faculty research mentors and assessing research fit
- An opportunity to ask questions and interact with faculty
