New semester. New flavors. More value for SBU Eats meal plans!
August 24, 2026
Welcome Seawolves,
Whether you’re new to Stony Brook University or returning for another year, we’re excited to have you here. SBU Eats is kicking off the semester with new flavors, more choices, and more ways to make the most of your meal plan. Discover The Drop at Roth Café, explore more places to use meal exchanges, and check out the apps and resources that make dining on campus easier. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite between classes or trying something new, there’s plenty to enjoy while dining on campus.
Visit East Side and West Side dine-in for all-you-care-to-eat dining options using a meal swipe or dining dollars. You can select entrées, sides, desserts, and beverages from any food platform within the location. Remember, your meal plan is on your SBU ID card, ready to use!
SBU Eats Goes Green
SBU Eats makes it easy to reduce waste with its reusable take-out container program, and every student on a meal plan gets one free! Thanks to this collective effort, our campus community is keeping more than 2.5 million single-use containers out of landfills. To participate, simply ask the cashier for a reusable container when you enter East Side or West Side dine-in and let them know you’d like to take your meal to go. Your take-out meal is in lieu of a dine-in meal for that period.
More Places to Use Your Meal Exchanges
Meal exchanges are even better this semester, with more locations and options to choose from! If you have the SBU Premium Meal Plan, you receive 54 meal exchanges per semester and can use up to two meal exchanges per day. Use your meal exchanges for a preset menu option at The Drop, Smash n’ Shake, or Subway® at Roth Café, or at Cocina Fresca and Nathan’s Famous at East Side Dining.
Dozens of Places to Use Your Dining Dollars!
Your dining dollars can do a lot more than you think! Grab a bite or your favorite beverage at stadium and arena concessions, choose from six food trucks, or explore more than a dozen retail locations across campus. Craving something quick? Pick up a meal at Halal NY, Delancey Street Kosher, or Jasmine International Food Pavilion, or enjoy favorites from Popeyes, Subway, Carvel, Nathan’s Famous, Dunkin’, Starbucks, and Peet’s Coffee.
New Concept at Roth Cafe
The Drop is a new rotating ghost kitchen experience at Roth Café, featuring crave-worthy meals, limited-time menus, and new flavors that keep things fresh and exciting each week! Simply order at the kiosk in Roth Café and pay with dining dollars or a meal exchange.
