"I'm an Air Force veteran and this is my story. My 8 years of service spanned from 2004 to 2012 and included 5 years of active duty and 3 years in the New York Air National Guard. During this time, I worked as a meteorologist providing current and forecasted weather for pilots and other personnel requiring weather. I was deployed for 4 months to a combat zone at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar where I supported Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. My other assignments included locations such as Biloxi, MS; Tokyo, Japan; Soto Cano AB, Honduras, and Warner Robins, GA. While on active duty service, I received the following awards and decorations: Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, and Air Force Expeditionary Medal."

"I was born and raised in Rockville Centre, NY and currently reside in West Islip, NY. I am pursuing a dual Bachelor's/Master's degree in Occupational Therapy at Stony Brook University and have been fortunate enough to use the Post 9/11 GI Bill for the funding of my education. I also work for the Stony Brook University Office of Veterans Affairs where I have the opportunity to help veterans and their family members with the processing of their VA education benefits. Besides work and school, my other interests include playing guitar, reading, spending time with family and friends, traveling, hiking, snowboarding, SCUBA diving, and playing golf and basketball. I am also a huge sports fan and root for the Mets, Jets, Giants, and Knicks."
