"I am a Navy veteran who served on active duty from 2009 -2013 as an Operations Specialist Second Class aboard the USS John C. Stennis. I deployed twice to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where I was recognized with the Sailor of the Quarter and Month distinction, as well as, awarded with the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Admiral’s Flag Letter of Commendation, and a Captain’s Letter of Appreciation. I am currently enrolled in the Occupational Therapy program with hopes in perusing a career in Occupational Therapy research and Naval Occupational Therapy. I currently hold the position of Fundraising Chairman for the Student Occupational Therapy Association and Veteran Organization. My main priority is to make sure I live a healthy lifestyle while achieving academic success. In addition to my academics, I enjoy working with the community and participate in different kinds of physical fitness challenges. During my downtime I enjoy sightseeing and attending live music events, especially renditions of the oldies."
