WHAT DOES IT FUND: The goal of this program is to identify innovative projects that support the collaboration of not-for-profit organizations and New York State small to medium-sized manufacturers, leading to the creation of valuable economic impacts in our communities, and the growth of New York’s manufacturing sector. Eligible projects will include those that are used by the applicant to assist industry partners with the following types of projects:

    • Adoption of new technology to enhance a process and/or product
    • Prototype development
    • Design for manufacturing
    • Proof-of-concept manufacturing
    • Manufacturing scale-up
    • Equipment access or acquisition
    • Supply chain development or strengthening
    • Other projects to advance manufacturing or manufacturing capabilities

Projects focused primarily on workforce development are generally not a strong fit for this program, unless they include a clearly defined innovative component and workforce development is essential to advancing that innovation.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applications must include both a not-for-profit organization and a minimum of one (1) New York State startup manufacturer (industry partner).
  • Eligible Applicants: New York State not-for-profit organizations that partner with at least one New York State  manufacturer or technology company.
  • Eligible Partner Manufacturers: At least 1, and up to 5, manufacturing or technology companies in any stage of maturity that:
    • Is physically established in New York State;

  • Applicant teams involving companies with 50 or more employees combined are required to contribute a match according to the sliding scale in the grant guidelines, with at least 50% of the match in the form of cash equity.

Please note that by submitting a pre-application to this internal competition, you are confirming that the industry partner would pass FuzeHub's eligibility check as part of the Stage 1 application. Any groups that apply to the internal competition and are found to be ineligible under FuzeHub's guidelines will not be considered in the future.
