Make your time at the IEC count in and outside of the classroom.  Stony Brook University offers numerous activities, clubs and organizations that all IEC students can take advantage of while studying English.  Aside from classes, the best way to enhance your student life at SBU is to spend time with other students and speak English!

    Student Safety

Student safety is the highest priority of Stony Brook and the University Police Department.  Vehicular accident and pedestrian injuries remain a concern for all of us.  Whether you are walking on campus or driving a car, the use of cell phones, iPods or ther devices puts you and others at risk.  To reduce that risk, we encourage everyone to refrain from using these devices when traveling to your destination and simply "Put It Down."

    Living Off Campus

Thinking of living off campus instead of the dorms? Stony Brook offers information through the Commuter Student Services & Off Campus Living Office  with an active website offering international students resources to help find off campus housing. In addition to providing information to help find rental spaces, the office gives students the tools to protect themselves when renting, as well as, services for commuter students like the Commuter Assistant (CA) Program.  If you are considering living off campus, please check out their website.
