Graduate Awards Reference Table

The Stony Brook University Graduate Awards is hosted annually to celebrate the accomplishments of graduate students, faculty and staff. Nominations must be submitted via InfoReady.

The table containing all the awards offered to graduate students, faculty/staff clearly mentioning the award amount and supporting documentation required.

Faculty/Staff Dean's Award for Excellence and Innovation in Graduate Education  No $500.00 Letter of nomination from a Dean, Department Chair or Graduate Program Director.
A document (up to 1,500 words) that describes the pertinent graduate education innovation and explains why it is significant. The document should also provide a description of the measures of success and provide data relevant to those metrics.
Letters of support (at least ONE) by a collaborating department, Center, external institution/organization, student, alumni, faculty or staff.
Faculty/Staff Dean's Award for Excellence in Graduate Mentoring by a Faculty Member No $500.00   Has the nominee been a faculty member for at least three years at the time of this nomination?
A letter of nomination. Nominations may be made by faculty, staff or students.
Letter of support from the faculty member's Department Chair or Graduate Program Director.
Letters of support from at least two graduate students who have a direct knowledge of nominee's mentoring activities.

Faculty/Staff Dean's Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching by a Faculty Member No $500.00 Has the nominee been a faculty member for at least three years at the time of this nomination?
A letter of nomination. Nominations may be made by faculty, staff or students.
Letter of support from the faculty member's Department Chair or Graduate Program Director.
A letter of support from at least one other faculty member.
Letters of support from at least two graduate students who have a direct knowledge of nominee's teaching.
The nominee's CV/Resume
Course and teaching evaluations and summary data as appropriate.
Any additional information deemed appropriate by the nominator.
Faculty/Staff Dean's Award for Excellence in Service by a Graduate Program Director (GPD) No $500.00 Has the nominee been a GPD for at least two years at the time of the nomination?
A letter of nomination. Nominations may be made by faculty, staff or students.
Letter of support from the faculty member's Department Chair
Letter of support from the Graduate Program Coordinator (GPC)
Letter of support from at least one other faculty member.
Letter of support from at least two graduate students who have a direct knowledge of nominee's service activities.

Faculty/Staff Dean's Award for Excellence in Service by a Graduate Program Coordinator (GPC) No $500.00 Has the nominee been a GPC for at least two years at the time of the nomination?
