Day of Event Information
The University's December Commencement ceremony is scheduled to l take place on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Island Federal Arena located on West Campus in the Indoor Sports
Complex. Doors open at 10 AM and guests are encouraged to arrive early as seating is
limited. The ceremony will be live-streamed and posted on the Commencement website.

- Graduates
Get Tickets Here
Graduates who have successfully applied to graduate will be able to access 2 guest
tickets through the Commencement website beginning December 6. Please note, the buying, selling, or gifting of tickets is strictly prohibited and
may result in disciplinary action. Please be sure to use your Stony Brook University email address when registering for
tickets. Alternate viewing of the December Commencement ceremony will be located in the Stony Brook Union Auditorium.
Tickets are not required, and doors open 10 AM.
Graduates will begin lining up at 10:00 AM in Pritchard Gym (located inside the Indoor Sports Complex). Academic attire is required.

Guests requiring ADA parking are asked to prominently display their parking permit
prior to arriving on campus for entry to the accessible parking lot at the Indoor Sports Complex lot, located behind the Arena. There will also be additional
ADA parking available in the Chemistry Lot in lieu of ADA shuttle services.
Doors open at 10:00 AM, one hour prior to the 11:00 AM ceremony. All guests must present their tickets at the gate. Children under the age of 3 do
not require a ticket. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis. The following
items are not permitted inside the Arena: outside food/beverage, backpacks, luggage,
umbrellas and balloons. Alternate viewing of the December Commencement ceremony will be located in the Stony Brook Union Auditorium.

Guests with smart devices can access closed captioning services for the ceremony at
stonybrook.edu/closed captioning. A live webcast will be available for all guests who do not have tickets or cannot
attend. The live stream can be found at stonybrook.edu/live as well as on the Commencement website. The ceremony program and accessible flipbook will
be made available on the Commencement homepage the morning of the event.

- Faculty
Please note that any faculty interested in walking in the academic procession for
the December Commencement ceremony must wear academic attire. Faculty will meet at 10:00 AM in Pritchard Gym (located inside the Indoor Sports Complex).
