Fall 2026 IDEA Graduate Program 

Graduate students: Apply now to be an IDEA Grad for the Fall 2026 semester! The IDEA Grad opportunity aims to provide a mentor-based hands on learning and professional development opportunity for graduate students. 

We are looking for a cohort of PhD candidates (G5 or higher) within creative arts, social sciences, or humanities (CASSH) departments. 

IDEA graduates:

• will each receive $12,000
• will work with an assigned mentor to assist with projects that support access
• will gain experience in higher education administration
• should be available to participate in in-person activities throughout the semester

IDEA Grads will be selected based on their commitment to SBU's mission of access and support of a broad student population, a brief research statement, CV, and the recommendation of their advisor. Past IDEA Grads are welcome to reapply for the Fall 2026 cohort.
