The Office of Marketing and Communications (MARCOM) protects and elevates Stony Brook University’s reputation by promoting academic excellence, research, innovation, access and impact. Through strategic storytelling and brand stewardship, MARCOM builds awareness and ensures Stony Brook maintains a credible, influential presence locally, nationally and globally.

MARCOM is made up of eight specialized units — collectively known as the MARCOM ecosystem — where award-winning marketing and communications professionals collaborate to advance the university’s reputation and strengthen its brand.

The units include Brand Management Services, Business and Operations Services, Creative Strategy and Design Services, Digital and Social Media Services, Editorial Services, External Communications Services, Presidential Communications Services, and Reputation and Perception Management Services
