Stony Brook Alumni Career Services

Stony Brook Alumni Career Services offers a variety of ways for alumni to assist current and future Seawolves, including becoming a one-time or long-term mentor, hiring interns, hosting company tours, supporting the internship fund and participating in virtual or in-person career education programming.

To build on these opportunities, Stony Brook Mentor Connect provides a dedicated social platform that connects Stony Brook students and alumni — both recent and experienced. This network offers a unique space for alumni to share guidance, support and insights as students and recent grads navigate their career journeys.

Alumni Admissions Ambassadors

Recruiting the Next Generation of Seawolves

Your Alumni Association and Stony Brook students need your energy and ideas! Join the growing network of alumni volunteers and help promote the mission of the University — all while having fun!
There are a variety of ways, both direct and indirect, that you can represent Stony Brook University in your home state or on campus. Depending on your availability and level of interest in volunteering your time, you can choose from one or more of our suggested activities:

  • Admitted student receptions
  • Join a counselor to represent Stony Brook at a college fair in your area
  • On-campus events, including Admitted Seawolf Day(s) and Orientation
  • Letter writing
  • Email
  • Alumni quotes

Before we send you to an event or have you interact with prospective students and families on your own, you will meet with an admissions contact. Alumni play such a vital role for any college or university and we look forward to having you share your experiences with future Seawolves!

Alumni Committees

Find out firsthand just how rewarding it can be to serve as a volunteer on an Alumni Association committee. Your experience with the Alumni Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, helps bring together our Seawolves community and lets you hone skills transferable to your profession and volunteer opportunities elsewhere.

Remote Opportunities

Don't live near campus? No problem. Many of our volunteers live across the country and around the world. Unless otherwise noted, committee membership is open to all alumni, as well as interested University faculty, staff, and students, pending approval by the Alumni Association President.
