About the WUSB Alumni Network
The WUSB Alumni Network brings together current and former staff members, students,
interns, DJs and volunteers connected to WUSB 90.1 FM, Stony Brook University’s student-operated,
noncommercial, free-form radio station.
By connecting alumni with current students and staff, the group supports WUSB’s long-standing
mission of delivering community-driven, commercial-free radio programming — on the
air since 1977.
As an affinity group within the Stony Brook University Alumni Association, the network fosters meaningful connections among alumni who share a common bond through their involvement with WUSB. The group supports the station’s 24/7 broadcasts to local and online audiences, featuring an eclectic mix of music and interviews, while also championing hands-on, experiential learning opportunities for current students.
In alignment with the broader goals of the Alumni Association, the WUSB affinity alumni group also supports events, local artists and nonprofit initiatives that promote awareness of physical and mental health resources and services.
