- Nurse clinician on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic
- Co-founder and vice president of the Cpl Christopher G. Scherer Semper Fi Fund. To date, it has raised over $1 million to support the following initiatives: care packages and equipment for deployed service members, scholarships for graduating seniors entering the military and sponsorship of service dogs for returning veterans
- Hosts the annual Cpl Christopher G. Scherer Memorial “I Did the Grid” 4-mile run/walk, which honors all service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice
