- Led research to improve understanding of hereditary cardiovascular disorders, including the discovery of new genetic links to myocarditis
- Research focused on a hereditary form of amyloidosis affecting African American and Hispanic communities
- Performed collaborative research and developed rehabilitation techniques for patients suffering from the aftereffects of COVID-19
- Oversaw undergraduate research mentoring programs for the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Program at Stony Brook University
