William Pérez-Porras is a Ph.D. student of philosophy at Stony Brook University. He works on philosophy of technology and its intersection with ontology/metaphysics, nature, and culture, for which he focuses on the work of Gilbert Simondon. In his dissertation, he addresses the question of politics in the thought of Simondon through the author’s notion of culture qua coordination of the organic and the technical. William has also done work on the intersection of phenomenological aesthetics and visual studies.
