ROME: Required Orientation Make-up Experience
Students who do not attend required programs during New Seawolf Welcome and/or did not complete Seawolf Foundations Online Orientation (modules 1 through 8) will be required to participate in the Required Orientation Makeup Experience (ROME). Students participating in ROME must make up the required program information through a series of online assignments.
Students will be automatically enrolled in the makeup program approximately 1 month into the semester. Students will receive an Orientation Hold and will be enrolled in the ROME course via Brightspace. Assignments for ROME are available via Brightspace to students enrolled in the program.
Once students complete all assignments, they need to email OrientationOffice@stonybrook.edu and request that the Orientation Hold be removed. The makeup course should be completed before registration begins for the following semester, since you will not be able to register for your next semester courses without completing the makeup program.
Required Orientation Makeup Experience. Students who do not attend required programs during New Seawolf Welcome and/or did
not complete Seawolf Foundations Online Orientation (modules 1 through 8) will be
required to participate in the Required Orientation Makeup Experience (ROME). Students
enrolled in ROME must make up the missed requirements through a series of online assignments
on Brightspace. Students that need to complete ROME can log on to Brightspace and see that they have
been enrolled in a course - by viewing this course’s information, students can see
what they need to makeup. Based on the grade in the Grades Section, you will determine which Quiz you need to
complete: All attendance records for all programs have been checked. You must complete ROME. Students who do not complete the ROME program risk their course enrollment access
as having a hold restricts adding/dropping/swapping courses on SOLAR. Students must
complete the ROME program for it to be lifted. Unfortunately, no. The information is required to be a student at Stony Brook, and
the hold cannot be lifted until all requirements have been completed with a grade
of 20/20. Most questions regarding your enrollment in this course can be answered by reading
the information above. Please be sure to review the information provided above carefully
before contacting us.
The hold will be lifted if completed and if not, an email will be sent to you explaining
why the hold will not be lifted.
If you have any questions regarding your enrollment in this course that are not answered
above, they can be directed to the Office of New Student and Transition Programs.
