Students can choose the Summer 600 meal plan which includes 600 dining dollars and
can be billed to your student account or the Budget meal plan which is a prepaid dining
dollars plan that can be opened with $20. You can add additional dining dollars to either of these plans at any time.
A dining dollar is equivalent to $1. Dining dollars may be used at any retail dining
location. Meal Plan funds may only be used to purchase food and beverage items at
on campus dining locations. For a list of dining locations, hours, menus, and nutrition

Dining dollars are added to the magnetic stripe on the back of your Stony Brook University
ID card. When you make a purchase, please let the cashier know that you would like
to use dining dollars.
Dining dollars are non-refundable. For visiting students, all dining dollars should
be used by the last day of summer session classes. Students returning for the fall
semester may carry over their dining dollars from summer to the fall semester.
Retail dining locations sell items a la carte. For a list of dining locations, hours,
menus, and nutrition information, visit stonybrook.edu/sbueats.
Dining dollars are a tax-free tender used to make food and beverage purchases on campus.
