The undergraduate program in Chemical and Molecular Engineering (BE) prepares students to become innovative engineers ready to tackle the technological challenges of tomorrow.

Our CME undergraduate program trains students to engineer at the molecular level, preparing them for careers in nanotechnology, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, energy, and environmental sectors. The curriculum blends core chemical engineering principles with molecular science, computational modeling, and interdisciplinary training, fostering creativity, teamwork, and ethical responsibility.

BE/MS Accelerated Program
in Chemical and Molecular Engineering

Take your education further—faster—with the Accelerated BE/MS Program in Chemical and Molecular Engineering. Designed for ambitious, high-achieving students, this program allows you to earn both your Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Science degrees in just five years, giving you a powerful edge in today’s competitive job market.
Take up to 6 graduate credits during your senior year that count toward both degrees to get a head start on graduate study. In your fifth year, you complete your master’s while gaining advanced technical, research, and industry-relevant experience. This streamlined program prepares you for leadership roles, cutting-edge research, and further academic study. Graduate with more than one degree - with expertise, experience, and a competitive advantage.
Transfer students are welcome to apply after one semester at Stony Brook, with admissions considered on a case-by-case basis.
