In the Heart of Long Island

Stony Brook University is situated at the geographic midpoint of Long Island — about 60 miles east of New York City and 60 miles west of Montauk Point.  Long Island’s villages, hamlets and towns each have their own distinctive character, and each features a wide range of housing choices, culture, and recreation. It is only a short distance to the Atlantic beaches of the south shore and the vineyards of the East End as well as a quick train ride from the campus to Manhattan.
