Vineet Johnsingh Memorial Scholarship

The Vineet Johnsingh scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates outstanding academic potential
and the promise of contributing to the fostering of a better understanding of Indian civilization.

Eligibililty

• Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at Stony Brook University
• Minimum grade point average of 3.0
• Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial need
• Scholarship recipients must take at least one India Studies course in the academic year following the
  award

Award Amount

• $750 (paid directly into the student’s account)

Procedure

1. Download and complete the application form
2. Attach a formal or informal transcript
3. Attach a personal statement of interest or involvement in the study of India (maximum 300 words)
4. Arrange for a letter of recommendation from a faculty member to be sent directly to indiastudies@stonybrook.edu

Deadline

• Completed application form with supporting material must reach the Center by October 15, 2026
• Awards will be announced by November 15th, 2026
