Prem and Latha Chandran Scholarship in Hinduism and Vedic Philosophy
The Center for India Studies invites applications for the Prem and Latha Chandran Scholarship from students interested in studying India, including Hinduism and Vedic philosophy.
Eligibility
- Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at Stony Brook University
- Minimum grade point average of 3.0
Award Amount
- $500 (paid directly into the student’s account)
Procedure
- Download and complete the application form
- Attach a formal or informal transcript
- Attach a personal statement of interest in Hinduism or Vedic philosophy (maximum 300 words)
- Arrange for a letter of recommendation from a faculty member to be sent directly to indiastudies@stonybrook.edu
Deadline
- Completed application form with supporting material must reach the Center by October 15, 2026
- Awards will be announced by November 15th, 2026
