Dr. N.S. Ramamurthy Memorial Scholarship in India Studies
The Mattoo Center for India Studies invites applications from undergraduates for the Dr. N.S. Ramamurthy Memorial Scholarship in India Studies.
Eligibility
- Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at Stony Brook University
- Minimum grade point average of 3.0
- Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial need
- Scholarship recipients must take at least one India Studies course in the academic
year following the
award
Award Amount
- $1000 (paid directly into the student’s account)
Procedure
- Download and complete the application form
- Attach a formal or informal transcript
- Attach a personal statement of interest or involvement in the study of India (maximum 300 words)
- Arrange for a letter of recommendation from a faculty member to be sent directly to indiastudies@stonybrook.edu
Deadline
- Completed application form with supporting material must reach the Center by October 15, 2026
- Awards will be announced by November 15th, 2026
