Kavya Menke
Phd Student, IDPAS
NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program
Kavya Menke is a PhD student in the Interdepartmental Program in Anthropological Sciences at Stony Brook University. She received her bachelor’s degree in Evolutionary Anthropology from Duke University in 2025. She is interested in the physiological mechanisms underlying social and reproductive behavior, as well as social and reproductive aging. Kavya enjoys exercising, reading, and spending time with her friends.
By applying to the NSF GRFP, she hoped to gain funding that would create more opportunities
for her to pursue her research, as well as to gain more experience in grant writing
and project design. She is looking forward to studying wild primate populations in
their native habitats. The funding from the NSF GRFP will allow her to spend more
time collecting data from wild primates in the field.
